Sercalo MEMS Variable Optical Attenuators (VOA) are available in two different configurations.
In terms of performance the VP series achieve lower insertion loss and better Polarization Dependent Loss characteristics. Whereas the VXP series allows for an easier array integration and is lower cost. All Sercalo VOAs use a high impedance 0-5 V input port to set the attenuation.
The Sercalo VX series are miniature opto-mechanical variable optical attenuators (VOA) for fiber optic communication systems and submodules. The highly reliable attenuation mechanism is based on a micromechanical shutter and features below 20 ms response time and below 1.0 dB insertion loss. The VOA is available in single and dual variants.
The mVOA comes in a hermetically sealed package with a diameter of only 3.5 mm. It’s manufactured with the latest techniques in laser welding for achieving better stability and improved reliability.
This miniature VOA is ideally suited for gain control in amplifiers and transceivers.
